Bionic Woman
See, I have made you a person
Perfect she is — -like the perfect cup of tea
(Sweet and milky) I made you once,
Unlike the rest which you flung.
Thin before marriage. No breasts.
Let’s just say flat-chested.
I know how you hate the word
(We called Mummy’s cancer, of the chest)
So, no breasts. Absolutely none.
After marriage, she can grow huge ones
Unlike fathers, husbands want some.
You could get her made a few khadi kurtas — -
high necked- long sleeved, preferably — -No unshaved
armpits will confront you,
Lipstick! Absolutely none.
In her wedding trousseau, though, you might give
her a vanity case with twenty lipshades anda pink nightgown
- sheer, short. Well, you are a guy,and you know what they
want. She will be a doctor, who would be an IAS
She would get your licenses ready in a jiffy
Cure your gout, sprout two little grandkids,
Fair and fat, Leave work because enough of that.
The rest of the days will be spent in harmless
gatherings luncheons.
She will follow you, stay lovely, chant out mantras
Give you a kidney, a part of her liver Feed, bathe and clean
carry you on her shoulders to holy lands, caress and
jerk off your ego even
when you are gone.
So that when you see your whole life
while you breathe your last,
You can see yourself as the hero
you were not.
