Brushing Your Teeth in a Movie
Tooth brushing scenes in movies
are horribly lacking in realism.
Actors seem to clean with just the brush,
that too a dry one;
you don’t see them wet it first
nor layer it with toothpaste.
They don’t hunch over the sink
like most of us.
Nothing drools out of their mouths
while they talk and walk around
toothbrush in hand.
They don’t rinse their brushes
after the act,dropping them
straight into the holder instead.
Neither do they rinse out their mouths
with clear, cool water
like most of us;
a quick wipe with the hand towel
seems to suffice.
They may claim poetic license
with the
no toothpaste
no wetting
no drool
no post-rinse
tooth brushing regimen.
But all this
followed by a
no morning-breath kissing scene?
