Martin Luther King Jr. was no match for Mahatma Gandhi’s badass dance moves
Like many exemplary leaders Martin Luther King Jr. was a proud Gandhian, a fact he would stress upon throughout his life. Having visited India at Gandhi National Memorial Fund’s invitation, King is known to have remarked in an All India Radio broadcast, “If this age is to survive, it must follow the way of love and nonviolence that [Gandhi] so nobly illustrated in his life.”
But that’s older history.
Because if we are to look at the recent past, we are to realise that the equation between the two is swiftly changing. The leader of the U.S Civil Rights Movement has competed in not one but two live performances pitted against Gandhi. And the result is for you all to see.
Gandhi expresses his feelings about the contests, rather eloquently.
After warming up with a battle rap, on the dance floor the Mahatma finally shows his disciple who’s the real boss.
