There Can Be No Happy Ending For The Frog Prince In India
by Maitri Dore
In the Indian version of this ‘fairytale’ there would be no happily ever after. The princess reaching out to kiss the frog would only be slapped with Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code. The princess and the frog prince would be cruelly torn apart. And probably spend their lives behind bars. Love that falls outside the law’s narrow definition can only end in tragedy.
