Virtual Academic to the Rescue
Are you in the field of academia? Do you worry about not sounding academic enough in your papers and your discussions? Do you scratch your head every time someone talks about discourses or normative values or the pedagogical institutions? Can you not make your mind about structures and whether or not you are capable of breaking the ones that surround you? Can you not identify those structures? Worry not. Your one shop stop for all your academic vocabulary is just a click away. The University of Chicago has developed an app that helps you construct academic sounding sentences. All you need to do is select options from the dropdown menus and hit ‘write it!’ If you do not like the sentence there’s an edit option available too. For example, I never thought I’d be able to construct a sentence like this one: ‘The reification of desire functions as the conceptual frame for the politics of the specular economy.’ But now I can! I may or may not know what it means. But I don’t care; so long as I can sound academic the world can go fuck itself.
This app called the Virtual Academic covers almost all the cool sounding words that you hear in your day to day conversations with the academic crowd. This pretty cool, very easy to use app will come to your rescue whenever you find yourself in a tricky situation. You can now avoid the gaze of the intellectual sect. Heck! You can even feel like one. Oh and in case you have some “Comments? Questions? Complaints? Praise?” let them know at writing-program@uchicago.edu. In short, if you are “Too lazy to write it yourself [?] Let the Virtual Academic do it for you.”
