Wear A Bra, If Need Be: Dating Tips For Single Women, 1938

To begin with, ladies, you can’t look bored or unconscious even if you are. If you want that guy in your life, pretend to take interest in him. And learn the act of being unconscious while still looking conscious. Just do it. 1938, a time which we suppose wasn’t very different from now, is the year these dating tips were inflicted on women who wanted to land the perfect man. By perfect we mean dull, boring, obnoxious, chauvinistic and a douchebag. Given that the situation hasn’t changed much, at least in India, and women are still expected to live up to insane standards, why not take a cue from these tormented women in these vintage pictures?
