When 10 American comic artists were asked to draw their creations blindfolded
In 1947, Life magazine, unsure of the prevalent belief that artists could draw their stock characters automatically out of habit, decided to perform a unique experiment. It invited 10 comic artists, blindfolded them, and asked them to draw their most regular character. While they began confidently, the end result made the magazine conclude, “the hand may be quicker than the eye but is less certain.”
But we refuse to judge them so harshly.
